Natural gas is coming to your community

Union Gas has now connected five rural and Indigenous communities in Ontario to affordable natural gas.

Extending natural gas service to these communities costs more than the revenue it will generate. Because of this, the province’s energy regulator has approved a time-limited additional charge on natural gas bills for homes and businesses that connect to this new access.

In most communities, local governments are also supporting projects by investing the property taxes Union Gas will pay annually on the new pipeline. As well, Union Gas is working with specific communities to access grants from the province’s Natural Gas Grant Program.
